On April 26, 2012 Gemcom announced that the Company signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Dassault Systèmes, the 3D Experience Company and world leader in 3D design, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. Dassault Systèmes, provides business and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations. Its world-leading solutions transform the way products are designed, produced, and supported, and their collaborative solutions foster social innovation, expanding possibilities for the virtual world to improve the real world.

Dassault Systèmes are enthusiastic about Gemcom’s strong and diverse client base, our robust solutions, and share in our vision to enhance the capabilities of mining technology more effectively address key business issues. Combined we intend to model and simulate our planet, improving predictability, efficiency, safety and sustainability within the Natural Resources industry and beyond.

Gemcom remains committed to its products and services, and most importantly, to you, our clients. Other than the prospective change in ownership of the Company, there will be no changes to Gemcom’s management team, locations, operations, support levels, or to how we engage with our clients. We will however be enthusiastically thinking about how to bring the innovation inherent in the Dassault Systèmes 3D Experience portfolio to the mining industry. Throughout this process we will continue to develop, support, enhance and invest in the software you depend on, while providing you with high-quality service from our regional offices around the world.

This year we expect to continue to add additional staff throughout our business units and to our development, support and services teams. We just shipped Surpac 6.3 and on May 1st we will ship GEMS 6.4. Work is continuously underway on all versions of our products and you can expect to see updates on upcoming versions of Minex, Whittle, MineSched, PCBC, InSite, and Hub which are anticipated to be released throughout this year. Gemcom remains the world’s largest provider of mining software solutions and with the resources and technologies available to us through Dassault Systèmes, you can expect to see some exciting solutions from us that address your exploration and mining needs.
